Evan James (vanjames)

Evan James, aka. Van James, is an artist, author and teacher.
His art is displayed internationally and is found in numerous private collections.
He is the editor of Pacifica Journal and is an award winning author of several books on art and archaeology (Ancient Sites of O'ahu; Ancient Sites of Hawai'i; Ancient Sites of Maui, Moloka'i and Lana'i; Spirit and Art: Pictures of the Transformation of Consciousness; The Secret Language of Form: Visual Meaning in Art and Nature; and Drawing with Hand, Head and Heart).
He has been a teaching artist in Hawai'i for over thirty years and is a founding faculty member of the Honolulu Waldorf High School.
He is chairman of the Anthroposophical Society in Hawai'i, an instructor at Kula Makua--Teacher Training Program in Hawai'i, and guest lecturer at Taruna College in New Zealand, Rudolf Steiner College in California, and numerous schools and training centers throughout Asia and the Pacific.
He holds a BFA in drawing and painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, and is a graduate of Emerson College, England, and the Goetheanum School of Painting in Switzerland.
He travels widely as an advocate for the arts and lives in Honolulu with his wife, has four grown children and four grandchildren.
